Bounce is a Melbourne-based rideshare platform competing with Uber on a flat driver subscription instead of a per-ride commission. When I joined, the rider and driver apps had their core flows working, but no shared system behind them. Spacing, components, and even brand colour drifted from screen to screen, and there was nothing tying the apps, website, and emails together as one product. I rebuilt the design system from the ground up and used it to redesign both apps, the marketing website, the email system, and the help portal.
The rider and driver apps had the right flows, but no shared system behind them. Some icons were even pulled from an external library with no proper components in our Bounce design system, so they'd silently break wherever they were reused. I rebuilt the DS natively in Figma and used it as the foundation to redesign both apps end to end: OTP verification, scheduled and multi-stop trips, fare splitting, referrals, Bounce Plus membership, driver earnings and payouts, and safety features like Follow My Ride and Night Safety Mode.

An interactive calculator lets prospective drivers compare Bounce's flat weekly access fee against traditional per-ride commission, right on the page. Two sliders, one clear answer: what they would take home and how much they would save over a year.
Total Weekly Fares
5 days × $300/day
$1,500
Other platforms
$1,065
Bounce
$1,450
Estimated saving with Bounce: $385 / week
That's up to $20,020 / year. Assumes the same weekly earnings for 52 weeks; figures are estimates only.
The vehicle options used to sit in a static list. I rebuilt them as a swipeable carousel so visitors can browse Access, Max, XL, Luxe, Pets, Green and Taxi one at a time, with a clear line on regional availability and download links for Bounce Drive right underneath.
Whatever the trip, there's a Bounce for it. Find a ride that suits your needs and your budget.

I rebuilt the homepage around core CRO fundamentals: desktop QR codes and dual-path CTAs that split the moment a visitor says they are a driver or a rider. Swipe to see both sides: fairer for drivers first, then fairer for riders.
Bounce replaces the 30% commission model with a two-tiered daily access fee: $8.80 if you earn under $140, $16.80 if you earn more. Either way, you keep 100% of the rest of your earnings. No commission punishing drivers. Drive more, keep more.

When other platforms take up to 30% from every trip, you pay the price. Bounce cuts commission entirely, so drivers earn more and show up happier, while you pay less and enjoy better service. That’s what rideshare should’ve always been.

Transactional and lifecycle emails (trip receipts, driver payout notices, referral confirmations, and Bounce Plus membership updates), built off the same design system as the apps, so an inbox never feels like a different product.

The help portal and the in-app help centre used to have different structures and different wording for the same problems, so switching between them felt like switching products. I rebuilt the portal around the same headings as the app: earnings and statements, tickets, and the three forms drivers use most.
